"Repeat after me," the teacher said as they moved through the exercises.
I am not perfect, but I still love myself.
I don't have to get it right every time.
I don't have to do it perfect, because I'm still learning.
I keep trying, even when I'm afraid.
I can go at my own pace.
I'm a good kid.
I'm a good kid.
I'm a good kid.
May the movement and the words meld together to give you confidence and peace little girl.

that's beautiful. may it sink in!
darby had an art teacher last year who taught the kids to say:
mistakes are great
they help us grow
the teach us what
we need to know
i loved it.
we can tell them till we're blue in the face. it's so nice when it's reinforced elsewhere!
I love this teacher!
She showed up, didn't she?
Riley was ready.
xo
That teacher is teaching a blanking lot more than Karate!
Yes, I'm begining to believe that moving to Cleveland was all about this karate teacher, too.
God Bless that karate teacher. And everyone she loves, which obviously includes my darling Riley.
Serious smiling going on here.
Wow you have an awesome karate teacher!!! I love this! If only every little girl heard this and every little boy...
That just made me cry.
I think I love that teacher. How can we clone her??
:)
That teacher sounds like she just may be an earth angel!
I'm trying to figure out a way that I can incorporate this somehow with my kids (and myself!). Thanks for sharing.
IN my childrens yoga classes we ALWAYS 'do' affirmations at the end of class and often incorporate them into our meditation. The kids adore this part of class:) These are kids that usually can't or won't sit still for much but they do for this!!!
